Decorative quartz flooring — Port Moody dental office

Western Canada Coatings installed a double-broadcast decorative quartz floor for a dental office in Port Moody, BC, finished to a smooth surface.

These original project photos show the completed flooring while the surrounding dental-office fit-out was still underway. The wide view shows the floor within the room, and the close-up highlights its fine, speckled appearance.

Concrete grinding: from worn surface to a fresh start

Surface preparation is where a floor project begins. On this project, we mechanically ground the existing concrete to remove old surface material and expose a cleaner base. These photos show the preparation stage, from the original floor through to the ground surface.

1. Before preparation

The existing surface showed wear and old markings.

2. Mechanical grinding

Grinding removes surface material and exposes the concrete beneath.

3. After grinding

The ground concrete is exposed for assessment and the next specified finish.

What comes next depends on how the floor will be used

A sealer or coating is selected around the condition of the concrete, expected traffic, cleaning needs and the customer’s preferred appearance. Finish selection follows the assessment of the prepared floor.
